Disney’s Riviera Resort, the lavish new European-inspired Disney Vacation Club resort with world-class service is the 15th resort in the deluxe DVC collection of properties. This deluxe villa resort reflects Walt Disney’s infatuation with the art, beauty, and architecture of Europe. This stylish property officially opened after much anticipation on December 16, 2019. Guests will feel as though they are staying in a fine Mediterranean resort, surrounded by grand porticos, lush gardens, towers, archways, and terraces in a serene waterfront setting. We were fortunate to stay recently at the Riviera Resort and it is…. Simply Elegant!
Disney’s Riviera Resort is conveniently located near both, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and settled adjacent to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Guests will be delighted by the palm tree lined drive, grand main lobby and the ambiance of the stunning architecture and tropical resort grounds. There are 300 deluxe units of various sizes at this delightful property. Accommodations provide guests with the ultimate in comfort and convenience in a modern, yet elegant setting and the décor reflects an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary furnishings. Of course, plenty of beloved Disney character touches are found throughout the resort as well.
This resort features all-new, two-person Tower Studio units with unique built-in’s and a pull-down queen bed. We did not have a chance to see the small studios but feel it is important to state they are small. Regular studio units sleep 5 guests with a queen bed, single pull-down, queen pull-down Murphy bed, and features a kitchenette and private balcony/patio. Deluxe 1- and, 2- bedroom units and 3-bedroom grand villas offer fully-equipped kitchens with stainless appliances, separate private bedrooms, spacious living and dining areas, well-appointed, bathrooms with a jetted soaking tub, a convenient washer/dryer and scenic balcony/porch. 1-bedroom units sleep up to 5 adults, 2-bedroom units sleep up to 9 adults and the 3-bedroom villas accommodate up to 12 adults.
Bask in the sun and get a feel for the Southern European Coastline at The Rivera Pool. Kids will have a blast at the S’il Vous Play water area. Beau Soleil leisure pool offers a more tranquil spot to relax. Keep fitness goals on track at the Athletique Fitness Center. In the evening, relax by the glow of the Fire Pit or take in a Disney flick at the Movie Lawn.
During our stay, we tried all 4 dining options. La Petit Café does not have seating, just counter service and is located off the main lobby. Offering specialty coffees, pastries, and delicate treats. A great grab-n-run breakfast option or quick sweet snack.
LE PETIT CAFÉ is the place to find your morning coffee or latte and sweet pastries by day or classic cocktails and tasty appetizers by night.
BAR RIVA: An open-air bar and restaurant located closest to the kid’s pool area. The famous Monte Cristo ($13.00) is back on a Disney menu and a must-try! They have a full cocktail menu, a small variety of sandwiches, chicken wings, kids’ meals, as well as salads for a refreshing lunch.
PRIMO PIATTO: This sit-down restaurant is smaller than I expected it to be, but the food was flavorful and affordable. Order at the entrance counter, grab your table, and staff brings your meal to you. Pizza, burgers, salads, or sandwiches can be selected. Drinks are free refills – bonus!
TOPOLINO’S: Signature dining is exclusively available for resort guests at the superior rooftop restaurant “Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera”. Interestingly, Topolino is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse, so there is plenty of mouse magic to be found at this scenic dining location. Topolino’s offers festive Disney character breakfasts in the morning and authentic Italian and French cuisine in the evening. Fine dining for dinner was a huge pleasure as the rooftop patio has a lovely seating area outdoors with twinkling lights to add a romantic ambiance. Guests will be delighted with the grand dining selections and wowed with awe-inspiring views of the nighttime spectacular shows of both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney has created a colorful all-new gondola-style transportation system, called the Disney Skyliner to provide transportation to and from the resort in the ultimate of grand comfort and style. This innovative skyway system offers sweeping bird’s eye views of Walt Disney World Resort as it makes a grand loop connecting guests at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort with two theme parks stops: the International Gateway at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Fun just to ride around in too.
Be sure to admire the tiled artwork on your walk to the gondola system! A must see for all ages.
