October 2016 officially marks the 45th anniversary of the grand opening of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This happy place opened for fun and adventure in 1971 and has been creating smiles for kids of all ages ever since. What was known as Walt Disney’s “Florida Project” originally began with the opening of the Magic Kingdom Park, the Contemporary Hotel and the Polynesian Village Hotel. Based upon a similar design as the original California theme park, the Orlando location added a spectacular focal point, the tall and very enchanting Cinderella Castle, drawing visitors to the heart of the park. Liberty Square and the Country Bear Jamboree were also new additions. Since those early years, Walt Disney World has grown in leaps and bounds and continues to be the magnet that attracts visitors to Orlando year-round from all over the world. Walt Disney World is known for excellence in theme parks, water parks, resort hotels, dining, shopping and other recreation activities and Disney World is expected to grow and expand. Plans are underway to debut new attractions and entertainment as the years go by. Here’s wishing the Magic Kingdom Park a very Happy Anniversary!
