Celebrate the joy of the holiday season this year at EPCOT’s World Showcase until December 30th at Walt Disney World in Orlando. As visitors stroll through various countries, fascinating storytellers will bring the magic of the holidays to light. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the heritage, traditions and cultural festivities from around the globe. Celebrate the unity of all the people of earth at this special ECOT seasonal event.
Take a stroll through the 11 countries highlighted in the World Showcase. In China watch how the Chinese usher in good fortune and happiness with a colorful and exciting Lion Dance. In Germany, see the story of the nutcracker and first Christmas tree come alive. In Canada, be entertained by a musical tour of holiday traditions from our neighbor to the north. In Mexico, be delighted by festive dancers and spirited mariachi music. Learn all about La Befana, the good Christmas witch and other Italian festivities in Italy. Learn the story of Father Christmas in the United Kingdom, “the spice of life” in Morocco, and celebrate a special Japanese New Year in Japan.
The American Adventure features Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Voices of Liberty Dickens Carolers as well as Kwanzaa and Hanukkah tales. There’s a Candlelight Processional each evening, dinner packages available and on-going live musical shows at the Fountain Stage. IlluminNations: Reflections of Earth has also been beefed up for the holiday season with a Disney-style Peace on Earth display.
