Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a brand new nighttime spectacular, will officially open this evening, February 17th at the Discovery River Amphitheater inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The show will be performed on select nights only, features an enchanting story of the connection between humans and animals, told with an elaborate blend of fire, water, light, nature and music. The 15-minute production begins with a pair of costumed storytellers who summon various animal spirits (Great Horned Owl, African Elephant, Asian Tiger and Tropical Turtle) to remind Disney visitors of the beauty and importance of the natural world we share with all walks of life. The colorful animal spirits are actually decorative floats illuminated by more than 50,000 LED lights, changing color as the floats glide through sparkling water. Rivers of Light is another addition to the nighttime experiences found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Other exciting evening experiences to catch at the Disney’s Animal Kingdom include:
