In the U.S. we give thanks for our blessings on Thanksgiving. It\u2019s a day filled with the 3F\u2019s: family, food and football. Another Thanksgiving Day tradition is watching parades.\u00a0 Whether we watch from the comfort of our homes on TV or hang out on city streets to see and feel the excitement in person, there\u2019s something about a parade that creates true holiday and community spirit.\u00a0 Here are a few cities that do a fantastic job of celebrating \u201cTurkey Day\u201d with a sense of style all their own:<\/p>\n
New York City<\/strong> \u2013 The best known of all the national parades, the Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a pure delight since 1926 \u2013 90 years!\u00a0 The 2 \u00bd mile route features Broadway performances, celebrity appearances, floats, gigantic helium balloons, and marching bands.\u00a0 The fun starts at 9 am.\u00a0 If you are not lucky enough to see this in person you can watch the excitement and joy on your television set on NBC.<\/p>\n Philadelphia<\/strong> \u2013 The 6abc Dunkin\u2019 Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is our nation\u2019s oldest, celebrating its 97th<\/sup> year on November 24th<\/sup>.\u00a0 At 9 am the historic Center City Philly streets will be filled plenty of live entertainment, giant character balloons, marching bands and decorative floats.<\/p>\n Chicago<\/strong> \u2013 The \u201cWindy City\u201d has one of the largest Thanksgiving Day parades in the country.\u00a0 The McDonald\u2019s Thanksgiving Parade starts at 8 am.\u00a0 Special equestrian units, floats, marching bands and live performances bring joy to the streets of downtown Chicago.<\/p>\n Houston<\/strong> \u2013 The 67th<\/sup> Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 9 am in downtown Houston.\u00a0 A pure slice of Americana!
