By dimming lights of the resort that illuminate the shoreline, newly hatched turtles are able to head to the safety of the water instead of crawling toward land.\u00a0 There are three species of endangered sea turtles found along the coastline in Vero Beach: leatherback turtles, green turtles, and loggerhead turtles.\u00a0 Nesting season runs from approximately May until October. During that time resort guests may be lucky enough to see the nesting sites and maybe even see the baby turtles.\u00a0 Kids ages 7 to 15 can participate in the Turtle Troop group activity, learn all about the turtle behaviors and even \u201cadopt\u201d their own sea turtle (by keeping up with the little turtle\u2019s progress remotely by the wonders of the internet).<\/p>\n
